Our Puja
The Samiti's faith. Ranchi's celebration.
Railway employees began this puja at North Colony in 1947. Today, Ranchi Railway Durga Puja Samiti carries the tradition forward through seva and community participation.
The mandap may be grand, but discipline, seva and warmth remain at the heart of the puja. From morning pushpanjali to evening aarti, the Samiti and volunteers serve every devotee.

Munchun Rai and the Samiti's continuing seva.
Local news archives identify Munchun Rai as president of the Ranchi Railway Station Durga Puja Committee. He has described the Samiti's effort to present something new for devotees each year while keeping faith, discipline and seva at the centre of the celebration.
The puja was started by railway employees in 1947. What began beneath a simple tarpaulin gradually grew into one of Ranchi's prominent community Durgotsav celebrations.
